Schedule: Varied hours / 9 months per year
Class: Extra Duty Level 9, .85 Assistant Drama Coach Position, Annual Stipend $3,179
Starting Date: September 6, 2018
POSITION PURPOSE:
To design, rent, build and alter costume pieces for musicals and plays while assisting high school aged children as a mentor.
David Douglas High School has three full time theatre teachers that run a program that includes three main stage productions a year as well as ten theatre classes that serve over 150 students. We strive to maintain a level of production far beyond a typical high school theatre and employ professionals to help enhance our shows.

- Develop cohesive vision as a team
- Solidify design and production elements; period, tone, color, etc.
- Periodic check-in meetings
- Implementation of vision and performances
Rehearsals occur after school anytime between 3pm and 6om Monday - Friday. Students work hard and are well behaved and focused on a strong performance. Stagecraft and advanced stagecraft classes will be available to assist this position during class and during afterschool work times on smaller jobs and organization.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Design, rent, build and alteration of costume pieces for musical and play
- Measurements and fittings as needed
- Repairs throughout rehearsals and performances
- Laundry between dress rehearsal week and performance weekends
- Strike following the run of the show
- Budget keeping and communication
- Organization and maintenance of costume shop and stock
- Perform other duties, as assigned
SPECIFIC PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS:
- Mentoring student directors with their costume design.
- Help with pull, re-pull and strike
- No budget
- No alterations
- Performance Dates: 5/10 -13
- Production Dates:
- Mentoring Meetings: 4/11*
- Costume Pull: 4/18*
- Costume Re-pull: 4/25*
- Strike: 5/15*

QUALIFICATIONS
- Must pass background check.
- Must complete school trainings.
- Proficient costume construction and design
- Basic stage makeup and hair design

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Moderate degree of physical stamina, with frequent lifting of up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds required in the physical assistance of students with special needs. Ability to move freely to various locations within the theatre. Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and bending. Exposure to noise and activity of a theatre setting.
